Chase Arena
FDG performed modeling and drafting services for the new Golden State Warriors Arena (Chase Arena) for the 1067 pieces of precast that make up the seating bowls within the arena. Products such as double risers, flat slabs, stairs, and vomitory walls were all part of the precast scope. This arena provided many challenges with it’s asymmetric geometry and over 50 foot spans of riser members in the upper bowls; not to mention all of this is done in the heart of earthquake country right on San Francisco Bay! Throughout the project FDG was able to be a part of the coordination with the engineers and architects to work out very complex geometry and fit issues within the arena. The general contractor had a very high level of building information modelling (BIM) required for the job with lots of coordination with other trades. There are very tight spaces within this arena and all the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC was coordinated prior to fabrication of the precast elements. Overall a successful experience in BIM! The arena is set to begin hosting events in late 2019.
